Rihla Rider Terms of Service

Rihla Terms of Service — Riders

Effective Date: August 1, 2026 Last Updated: September 5, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Rihla mobile application and related services (the “App” or “Service”), operated by the Publisher. The App connects Riders with independent Drivers and is operated in accordance with Islamic principles. By creating an account or otherwise using the App as a rider (“User,” “Rider,” or “you”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

2. Eligibility and Your Account

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep it current, and maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Code of Conduct

The following apply while a Ride is in progress, and, where indicated, at all other times:

3.1 Respectful Conduct

You will treat Drivers and other Users respectfully and will not engage in harassment, threats, or abusive behavior toward any person using the Service.

3.2 No Smoking

Smoking is prohibited inside the vehicle during any Ride.

3.3 No Music

You may not play music inside the vehicle during a Ride.

3.4 Punctuality

You must be present and ready at your selected pickup point at the scheduled time. Failure to do so may be treated as a late cancellation under the Cancellations section below.

3.5 Gender Interaction and Off-App Contact Policy

  1. You will not initiate or continue a personal conversation with a Driver, or with another User of the opposite gender, beyond what is reasonably necessary to complete a Ride, unless that individual is your Mahram.
  2. You will not contact, attempt to contact, arrange to meet, or otherwise interact with any Driver — regardless of gender — outside the App, for any purpose unrelated to a Ride booked through the Service.
  3. You will not contact, attempt to contact, arrange to meet, or otherwise interact with any other User of the opposite gender outside the App, for any purpose unrelated to the Service.

3.6 Islamic Compliance

You agree to conduct yourself in accordance with Islamic Sharia principles while using the Service. The Publisher reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or permanently remove a User from the Service for violation of this Section 3.

4. Pickup and Drop-off Points

  1. You will be picked up from the pickup point you selected in the App. If the Publisher relocates that point for operational reasons, the relocated point — as communicated to you through the App — replaces your original selection and is the only pickup point applicable to that Ride.
  2. You will be dropped off only at the drop-off point you selected in the App.

5. Cancellations

Cancelling a Ride after a Driver has been assigned may result in a cancellation fee charged to your payment method on file. Repeated cancellations may result in additional penalties, temporary suspension, and, ultimately, permanent removal from the Service.

6. Fees and Payment

  1. Fares and any fees or penalties under these Terms will be calculated and displayed in the App and charged to the payment method on your account.
  2. Where a fare, fee, or penalty is not fully collected from your payment method on file, your account may carry a negative balance, as reflected in the App. The Publisher will not require repayment of a negative balance in a single lump sum. Instead, it will be recovered gradually by deducting a portion of the outstanding amount from the payment collected for each of your subsequent Rides, continuing until the balance is settled in full.

7. Intellectual Property

  1. The App — including its software, design, features, trademarks, trade names, and the Rihla logo — is the Publisher’s sole property and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.
  2. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Publisher grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose only. No other rights are granted, by implication or otherwise.
  3. You will not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App, nor tamper with or interfere with its functionality, security, or normal operation.

8. Suspension and Termination

The Publisher may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms — including the Code of Conduct, Pickup and Drop-off, Cancellations, or Intellectual Property provisions — or for any conduct the Publisher determines, in its discretion, to be harmful to the Service or its users.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Publisher will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jordan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved in the competent courts of Irbid, Jordan.

12. Changes to These Terms

The Publisher may amend these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified through the App. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
